Distance learning is entirely online, entirely coursework, and entirely self-study (with immediate guidance or supervision support). Distance learning courses enable students to participate from anywhere in the world by using a computer and the internet. Moodle is a platform for delivering distance learning courses with support from an instructor/tutor.
To more accurately reflect the real working environment, assessments are made through practical assignments (one assignment per unit) rather than exams. The instructor/tutor will provide proactive support via email, moodle messaging, skype, or phone. Before final submission, the tutor will provide students with feedback on their draft work. The Moodle platform contains all of the resources and guidelines required to complete the course.
The following are the primary advantages of distance learning: 1) Use the Moodle platform to study from anywhere in the world; 2) The Moodle platform contains all of the resources and guidelines required to complete the course; 3) Receive the same certifications as on-campus students; 4) Study the same on-campus courses that are available online through the Moodle platform; 5) Do similar work as on-campus students; 6) Have access to instructor and tutor support; 7) Students will be encouraged to participate in Moodle chat groups to help one another.
