Introduction

Masters Degree Advanced Entry with 120 credits, the Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in Law overall aim of this qualification is to provide non-law graduates with a grounding and knowledge of foundation law subjects which will provide a sound basis to continue further in a law career. This is not a preparatory programme for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) examinations but is aimed to provide a basis for further legal study and/or training. The qualification is aligned with aspects of the SQE in order to provide learners with a foundation in its various domains.

Assessment is through practical assignments, with no exams - to more accurately reflect the real working environment.

Ofqual RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) qualification number for Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in Law is 610/2558/6.

Aims of the Course

The aims of the programme are to:
1) Support the academic stage of training through study of foundation areas of law and Functioning Legal Knowledge and Practical Legal Skills and Knowledge domains aligned with aspects of the SQE and to develop learners’ approach to these studies at master’s level;
2) Develop analytical, evaluative and research skills appropriate to law at master’s level;
3) Provide the opportunity for research and in-depth study of a particular area of law through the research project/dissertation.

Entry Requirements

Candidates will be expected to satisfy the following requirements:

  Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) or

  Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) or

  Mature applicant with A level (or equivalent) and work experience and

  IELTS 5.5 or CEFR level B2 (if applicable)
