Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) offers a pathway for individuals to earn formal qualifications that reflect their existing knowledge, skills, and professional experience. This process supports career advancement, lifelong learning, and personal development by validating non-traditional learning.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates prior learning, whether acquired through formal education, workplace experience, or informal training. It determines whether this learning meets the requirements of a specific qualification, allowing for partial or full exemption from course components.
Applicants may select a CPD/SBC course from the approved catalogue for evaluation and submit a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Evaluation Form. Acceptable evidence of prior learning may include full-time or part-time employment history, completed training or educational programmes, and voluntary or unpaid work experience. Submissions will be reviewed in accordance with RPL criteria, requiring applicants to identify the relevant course units, demonstrate how their prior learning aligns with the specified learning outcomes, and provide supporting documentation that verifies competence and relevance. Upon completion of the evaluation, and subject to meeting the course requirements in full or in part, applicants may proceed with formal admission.
